| South Cumbrian residents are being warned by Trading Standards about cold callers who are offering grants as part of a government scheme to replace windows for new double glazing. We have received information that the companies involved may be using high pressure selling techniques in order to persuade residents to sign up to the scheme.
The advice from Cumbria Trading Standards is not to deal any companies who use cold calling tactics and if residents are unsure or need further advice they should contact Consumer Direct on 08454 040506. Householders wanting the best information on heating their homes this Winter should contact Cumbria Warm Homes – a Cumbria wide project supported by Cumbria County Council and all of the six District Councils, on 0800 328 8419, or apply online atwww.cumbriawarmhomes.org.uk. The scheme offers free home energy health checks that will provide you with a written survey report and quotation for your property. |
